๐DIGITAL ART๐
๐ท๏ธ Resources dedicated to digital art in general, graphic art programs and the like
I made a page, rather than a blog post for Digital Art Resources because I have a feeling I will end up making this a sub-directory to more specific resources in the future. With that being said, this page will act as a directory for anything related to Digital Art in general, with a focus on illustration. I am looking to include a section on Graphic Design as a related topic (which of course is different!), but it probably won’t be as extensive as Digital Art.
Beginner related resources will be added in the future; you can pretty much just skip the sections you’re familiar with (notably anything related to beginners). As a reminder, this is just a personal list collection mainly for my own navigational needs — I’m not going to include every digital art software out there, only the ones I personally use or have used in the past; additionally, this applies to the type of digital art as well. There may be sections added in the future I will not necessarily have experience with before (E.g. 3D Art). Talk about technology equipment is somewhat included, as this will mainly focus in on the making of digital art. Lastly, adjustments to this page will be done over the course of time.

- โญ๐ฑGraphic Software functions – A key concept Visual Dictionary by Adobe
โช๏ธ Although this may be specific to Adobe, a large number of their Photoshop Element functions can be found in a wide variety of graphic software. It’s not a comprehensive list, but this is what I consider to be the basics to be familiar with. - โญ๐ฑ Did You Know? Terms Related to Digital Drawing by Nyle Inc (CLIP STUDIO PAINT)
- Glossary of Terms for Digital Art by Cynthia Millis (HCSS)
โช๏ธ Added this here just as a general resource, it’s basically a large dictionary for Digital Art terms. Not something for beginners to know right off the bat, but it’s helpful if you encounter a term you’ve never heard of before. - โญ๐ฑWhat is Resizing? by University of Michigan
- โญ๐ฑA Guide to Obtaining Copyright Permissions by University of Michigan
โช๏ธ This is an excellent guide that provides an overview in regards to copyright, it is very relevant if you are looking to use works made by other creators. As a personal note from me, if a creator does not have anything stated about the usage of their work, always assume that it is not allowed.
๐ Note from Blazi: And this is where things start to branch off! Choose what kind of digital art you want to focus on and keep doing your research for your personal needs.
Best of luck to your creations! ๐

๐ท๏ธ Things that can be universally done across all graphic arts software, tips
๐ Note from Auri: If it says “How to do ____ in (Software name),” I listed this resource in this section because you can actually do the same functions in other software, as long as you know your tools and the available adjustment options in your program.
- The best drawing tablet: Our pick of the best graphics tablets in 2020 by Richard Hill and Jon Stapley (Creative Bloq)
โช๏ธ An article outlining about what are some art tablets suitable for your needs, it describes both the pros and cons on what’s out there. For my personal input, I can definitely back up on the point about the Wacom Intuos Pro M tablet often experiences driver issues. There is also a large diversity of tablets included, rather than just listing a Wacom Cintiq for example. - Applying Transparent Color in Photoshop by Justin Gerard (MuddyColors)
